because of you!!!

from my point of view...
almost problem is come from smoking..

do you know why??

you got cancer...because your smoking habit..

you have financial problem....because of you can't miss the opportunity to buy the cigarette...you poor, but you MUST buy the cigarette because of you already addicted to it.

your child have asthma and also have been birth earlier than it should be...because your wife got exposed by second hand smoke from your smoking habit..

your family...and surrounding got diseases...because of the exposure of smoke from the cigarette...

and many more...all because of CIGARETTE...

BUT...

not everyone can see that...do you know...we got tax payment from the tobacco industry approximately 3 billion...

you must be really think that it's a lot of money..isn't it...

BUT..

do you know...the cost that used to the treatment for ONLY 3 diseases that caused by tobacco...is also 3 billion...but it's only 3 diseases...what about the other diseases that Malaysian got because of the smoking habit???

it's just a waste to the country...so sad...that's so much waste on the treatment because of your stupidity...
why not we go to the source...stop smoking...and if we can do that...i am pretty sure...completely sure..that we can use the money that we earn to the other beneficial things...

that's just my opinion...and in my point of view...
i only can advise..but the decision is in your hand...

hopefully you can start to quit by this second..think for your family, surrounding and to our beloved country...MALAYSIA...

salam ramadhan and selamat hari raya aidilfitri...

smoking can cause a bladder cancer

assalamualaikum my friend..

it's be a long time since i wrote here...
today i want to share with u one of the scary effect of the smoking. before this we all know, smoking can cause mouth, throat and lung cancer..

but today, i read a paper about how the habit of smoking can cause a bladder cancer.
so bad...

you will be surprised to hear this news, but it's really a link between smoking habit and a bladder cancer and it's a very real risk. maybe in your mind, how come the bladder can effect with something that we put on mouth, but it's there. after all, when u inhales the cigarette smoke, the primary destination are of course, the mouth, throat and also your lung. But a lethal change change in the composition of the cigarettes makes the bladder a target for cancer.

for more info, u can read a research by the researcher from National Cancer Institute. They explains while there is less tar and nicotine in cigarette now that in years passed, there also has been "an apparent increase in the concentration of specific carcinogens," including a known bladder cancer carcinogen and tobacco -specific nitrosamines.

Well, what can i conclude here, there are many evidence that shows the dangerous of smoking, but the deaths because of smoking keep increased. Is that because of their ignorance??

As we all know, the cigarette can make u addicted. whenever u start to try it, u will stuck with it. to be safe, stay away from cigarette and who are can influence u to try it...

We here can only give advice and try to help those already addicted that want to quit. the decision is only on your hand..

Kansas parents warned about new 'tobacco sticks'

Kansas parents warned about new 'tobacco sticks'

A new tobacco product being sold in Kansas has prompted warnings from state health officials, who say the tiny "smokeless tobacco sticks" could pose a danger to children.
Altria Group Inc., the parent company of Philip Morris USA and U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co., recently began test-marketing the tobacco-coated sticks at select retailers in Kansas, including Wichita, said company spokesman Ken Garcia.
The sticks, sold in matchbook-like packs under the brand names Marlboro and Skoal, are aimed at adult smokers and snuff users who want a smokeless, spit-free alternative, Garcia said.
The sticks are coated with finely milled tobacco and come in different flavors such as "cool mint." They carry the same potential health risks as other tobacco products and bear similar warnings.
At a Wichita convenience store on Wednesday, a pack of 10 Marlboro smokeless tobacco sticks cost $2.88 before tax.

naiba::sometimes, i'm salute this tobacco industry because they always have a fresh idea to tackle the teenagers and make their business run smoothly. But, poor who are did not realize about the side effect and health implication behind all these fresh idea. Of course sometimes, child did not recognize and did not realize about the health implication that they will get by taking this tobacco product and this is our duty as an adult, sister, brother and parent to control, monitor their activities and also give the advise to them.

tobacco sticks

can u see two picture above, the tobacco sticks is almost same as the rocky stick. this tobacco company are really evil. they must me target the children!

Coming with the various flavors like shisha (waterpipe smoking), this new brands for sure also targeting the teenagers to try the product and sometimes the parties who responsible to the tobacco control should take action and try to implement some Act so that the we can protect our teenagers. As we all know world is tomorrow is depending to the teenagers today. The first education that the children got is from their home so, the education and awareness about the health implication affect by tobacco should start from home, parents should stop smoking and be the best example for their children.

Shisha di Malaysia

in my opinion, shisha sepatutnya di 'ban' terus kat malaysia.

Eden yakin..masyarakat Malaysia sekarang dah makin bijak..tapi tak tau la kan kalau eden silap tafsir...

Tepuk dada tanya iman...

Tacoma-Pierce County health official wants to ban electronic cigarettes in public places

Posted By Kris Sherman on May 4, 2011 at 10:56 am

Electronic cigarettes - battery-operated devices that deliver a hit of nicotine with each puff - would be banned in public places under regulations proposed by the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department.

The proposal also would ban the sale of the e-cigarettes to minors.
A separate proposed regulation would give the health department greater powers in enforcing anti-smoking laws in the county.
The proposals are posted on the Health Department website today and will be the subject of a public meeting May 16; a Board of Health study session May 18; and consideration of adoption by the board on June 1.
Health Department chief Dr. Anthony Chen told me the regulations are intended to further protect the public from the harmful effects of nicotine and other chemicals associated with the use of e-cigarettes or tobacco.
But it appears the Board of Health already is somewhat split on the issue. Chairman Dick Muri and vice-chairman Stan Flemming, both Pierce County Council members, told me Tuesday they believe the proposed e-cigarette regulations go too far.
They're not opposed to banning their sale to minors, but they don't believe there's enough science on their potential harm to back up regulations preventing people from using them in public.'
In fact, Muri and Flemming said, they could be a good alternative for smokers searching for a way to kick the tobacco habit.
E-cigarette seller Kim Thompson, owner of The Vaporium in Lakewood, calls the proposed regulation "unfair and unjust."
Here's copy of the Health Department's news release on the proposed regulations:
The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department Proposes New Regulations Related to Tobacco Prevention and Control
The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department is tasked with safeguarding and enhancing the health of the communities of Pierce County. As part of its mission, the Health Department tackles emerging health risks through policy, programs and treatment in order to protect public health.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, tobacco use is the number one cause of preventable deaths in the United States and is responsible for one in every five deaths annually.
In Pierce County, 17% of adults smoke, representing more than 100,000 of our family members, neighbors, co-workers and friends.
Even for individuals who don’t smoke, secondhand smoke poses a serious health risk. In adults, secondhand smoke can cause heart disease and lung cancer
For children, secondhand smoke can increase symptoms of asthma, respiratory infections, sudden infant death syndrome and a number of other health conditions.
The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department has brought forth two proposed regulations that relate to the Health Department’s ongoing work to protect the people of Pierce County from the risks associated with tobacco use.
The Board of Health may vote on these regulations at the June 1, 2011 Board of Health meeting and the Health Department is interested in receiving feedback from the community prior to that date.
The two proposed regulations are:
Environmental Health Code, Chapter 8: Smoking in Public Places.
This local regulation provides greater clarity and interpretation of RCW 70.160, Washington State’s Smoking in Public Places law, allows for local enforcement including fees and fines and aids local businesses that wish to comply with the State law. Adopting a local regulation facilitates compliance of the state code.
Environmental Health Code, Chapter 9: Restrictions on Sale, Use and Availability of Electronic Smoking Devices and Unregulated Nicotine Delivery Products.
The proposed regulation prohibits smoking and the purchase of e-cigarettes and other unregulated nicotine delivery products by youth under age 18, disallows e-cigarettes to be used in public places and anywhere that regular cigarettes are prohibited and prohibits free or heavily discounted e-cigarettes.
Currently, e-cigarettes are unregulated in the United States. They contain varying levels of nicotine and other known carcinogens and toxic chemicals. The FDA recently announced that it intends to regulate e-cigarettes as a tobacco product and not an approved cessation aid.
Public Meeting
The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department will host a public meeting to preview and receive public feedback regarding the two regulations. The meeting will include a brief presentation of the proposed regulations, a question and answer period and an opportunity for attendees to provide brief comment.
When:
Monday, May 16, 2011
6:00-7:00 PM
Where:
Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department Auditorium
3629 South D Street
Tacoma, WA 98418
To provide written feedback on the proposed regulations, please fill out the public input form which can be found here.

WHO warns the hookah may pose same risk as cigarettes

GENEVA (AP) — Water-pipe smoking may pose the same health risks as cigarettes, the World Health Organization said Tuesday, adding that more scientific research was needed into the link between hookah use and a number of fatal illnesses.

"Using a water pipe to smoke tobacco is not a safe alternative to cigarette smoking," the U.N. health agency said in a seven-page document on the practice. "Contrary to ancient lore and popular belief, the smoke that emerges from a water pipe contains numerous toxicants known to cause lung cancer, heart disease and other diseases."

The WHO "advisory note" warned that using water pipes to consume the tobacco, which is commonly a mixed with molasses and fruit flavors, usually exposes a person to more smoke over a longer period of time than do cigarettes. Preliminary research indicates that hookah smoking poses many of the same dangers as cigarettes and may involve "some unique health risks," the agency said.

A hookah is a bowl connected to a vase of water with a long tube and mouthpiece. The tobacco sits inside the bowl with a layer of foil and a hot coal on top. The tobacco is never lit, instead heated by the charcoal, which smokers say produces a vapor different from smoke.

The hookah, used for centuries in North Africa, the Middle East and Central and South Asia, has become increasingly popular in the United States, Europe and Brazil, particularly among college students and young adults.

WHO says the trend is partly due to "unfounded assumptions" of its safety, and misleading commercial marketing.
The agency said a person can inhale more than 100 times more smoke in a hookah session than in a single cigarette. By delivering nicotine, the water pipe can cause addiction.

"None of the accessories have been demonstrated to reduce smokers' exposure to toxins or risk of tobacco-related disease and death," WHO said.

While further research is required, the health body said those exposed to secondhand hookah smoke appeared to be at risk of the same diseases as those exposed to cigarettes. WHO warned that hookah smoke could also increase the risk of adverse effects during pregnancy.

The Claim: Hookahs Are Safer Than Cigarette

Published: September 11, 2007
THE FACTS
As cigarette bans have proliferated in recent years, hookah lounges have become a popular alternative, in part because the flavored smoke is believed to be less harmful than cigarette smoke. But research suggests otherwise.

It is true that in hookahs, also known as water pipes, the smoke is often flavored and filtered through water. The problem is that people who use hookahs typically inhale far more smoke than cigarette smokers, exposing them to potentially higher levels of nicotine, carbon monoxide and other chemicals. Most studies show that small water pipes produce the highest levels of carbon monoxide, followed by cigarettes and then large water pipes.

One extensive report on hookahs was published in 2005 by the World Health Organization. It found that in a single smoking session, cigarette smokers typically took 8 to 12 puffs and inhaled 0.5 to 0.6 liters of smoke over five to seven minutes. In contrast, hookah smokers may take 50 to 200 puffs of up to a liter of smoke each during a single session.

“The water pipe smoker may therefore inhale as much smoke during one session as a cigarette smoker would inhale consuming 100 or more cigarettes,” the report said.

Hookahs can be just as hazardous as cigarettes.

Studies say electric cigarettes are not what they seem

Posted: 04/13/2011

Hollywood got Freda Souligny smoking at just 13.  Now 81, she had a pack-a-day habit for 61 years.
She stopped when emphysema led her to electric cigarettes two months ago.  Battery-operated, they deliver nicotine vapor through an adjustable cartridge, and cost about 60 bucks to start.
Freda kicked her habit by slowly cutting the nicotine dose over several weeks.  However, Professor Tom Eissenberg says e-cigs are misleading.
A pair of studies found while real cigarettes deliver nicotine, e-cigs do not - despite claiming to do so.  He says smoking an e-cig is just like puffing on an unlit cigarette - no nicotine, no tobacco , nothing.
Freda doesn't agree.
The studies do say e-cigs can cut the urge to smoke by nearly half.  So Freda's mind may be tricking her body - but she doesn't care.
Miraculous, or smoke-and-mirrors? It really doesn't matter as long as you quit.

shisha...is it save????

"shisha is save compared to cigarettes." If u are saying this....You are totally wrong!!!!!!!

For your information, shisha has high concentration of carbon monoxide, nicotine, tar and heavy metal. Moreover, some shisha concoction may even have illicit drugs and alcohol added to it. A single session of shisha would contains nicotine and tar equivalent to 20 cigarettes and the amount of carbon monoxide is produced is equal to 4 to 5 times higher than cigarettes. Research also showed that smoking shisha is 400 to 450 times more dangerous than smoking cigarettes. So, can u imagine that?

If u are one of shisha smoker, and u still want to continue with your habit,so keep reading this.

Shisha smoking can lead to lung cancer, esophagus cancer, mouth cancer, urinary bladder cancer, chronic lung disease, emphysema, low birth weight (for pregnant mothers), precipitation of asthma attack, pneumonia and decreased the sperm count.

Smoking shisha for hours also can produce smoke equivalent to 400 cigarettes. Besides, the children who exposed to the shisha smoke are at high risk of developing lung infection, asthma and sudden infrant death sindrom. For you who always share the shisha pipes, u are at high risk because u can get TB, herpes and flu virus.

So, stop smoking shisha for your own life.

tobacco, tobacco and tobacco

what is tobacco? tobacco is an agricultural product processed from the leaves of plants. like we all know tobacco was used in making the cigarette. now the new product from tobacco are shisha, pan masala, bidis and also cigar. In Malaysia itself, the shisha already be a trend to Malaysian especially in Bukit Bintang.

What make me so surprise, woman also smoke using shisha. Their reason is they want to look thin and they think the shisha effects were different than the effect from cigarettes. they did not know that the shisha effect is 400 to 450 times danger than the cigarette.

Although there are specific act on tobacco, the producing of this leaves keep increasing. That shows that this leaves can make people addicted to it.
